The Department of Environmental Management announces that as a result of improved water quality conditions, two areas that have been closed to shellfish harvesting will now be open for shellfishing beginning this Saturday

The Rhode Island Senate has passed legislation that seeks to move apprenticeship training beyond typical building trades such as construction and plumbing and into more non-traditional sectors of the workforce and economy, such as manufacturing, information technology, design and management.

As part of its ongoing commitment to give back to the community, Citizens Bank is donating a renovated, mortgage-free house in Rhode Island to a combat-wounded military veteran and his family. The donation was arranged through the Military Warriors Support Foundation (MWSF).

In an effort to protect the health of Rhode Island’s waters, U.S. Senators Jack Reed and Sheldon Whitehouse and Congressmen Jim Langevin and David Cicilline announced today that Rhode Island will receive $270,385 through the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s Clean Vessel Act (CVA) grant program.
