Rhode Island Annual Property Tax Report Now Available

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – January 6, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — The R.I. Division of Municipal Finance has issued its Fiscal Year 2016 Property Tax Cap Report summarizing compliance with the state property tax levy cap of 4 percent, now in its ninth year.

The Fiscal Year 2016 Property Tax Cap Report, now available on the division website, www.municipalfinance.ri.gov provides certified municipal tax levies for FY2016 and FY2015.

The Division of Municipal Finance issues the annual report as part of its mission to provide guidance to municipalities in achieving and maintaining fiscal stability and in complying with state law.

The division serves as a conduit for information and education for taxpayers, government officials and the public. The division’s website serves as a comprehensive resource for people to research contracts by municipality, review legislation affecting cities and towns, review local tax rates and median income, and find links to municipal audits, websites and charters.
