Statement From Attorney General Kilmartin on National Mortgage Settlement Progress Report

August 28, 2012 - (RealEstateRama) -- In response to the first progress report issued by the National Mortgage Settlement Monitor Joseph P. Smith, which discloses the five settling mortgage service providers have granted $10.56 billion in consumer relief to borrowers between March 1 and June 30, 2012 nationally, with 355 Rhode Island homeowners receiving $26.7 million in relief, Attorney General Peter F. Kilmartin noted the settlement has provided significant relief to Rhode Island homeowners.

RI Non-Profit Wins $81,000 Community Development Grant

RI Receives Grants to Combat Veteran Homelessness

WASHINGTON, DC - July 18, 2012 - (RealEstateRama) -- In an effort to prevent veteran homelessness, Rhode Island’s Congressional delegation today announced grants for two veteran advocacy non-profits. Operation Stand Down Rhode Island will receive $500,000 to serve about 440 households throughout the state. Veterans Inc. will receive $1 million to serve veterans in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine. Congressman Jim Langevin and Senator Sheldon Whitehouse today joined with state, town, and labor officials by the Factory Bridge in West Warwick to call on Congress to pass the Strengthen and Fortify Existing (SAFE) Bridges Act.
